I love pairing lemon, cream, and ham together. The flavor is fantastic! Fresh, light citrus cuts through the luxuriousness of the ham. Quick and easy weeknight meal. Pair it with a crisp salad and crusty bread!Print
Ham and Pea Pasta with Lemon Cream
Citrusy, creamy, lemon sauce with noodles, ham, and peas.
¼ cup butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic chopped
1 shallot sliced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
8 oz, ham, chopped
2 lemons, zested and juiced
2 cups heavy cream
Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
1 lb, small tube-shaped pasta
2 cups frozen peas, defrosted
1 cup Parmesan cheese
¼ bunch parsley, chopped for garnish
Heat the olive oil and butter in a large saute pan, over medium heat. Add the garlic and shallots and
cook until fragrant. Add red pepper flakes and ham, and saute to heat through. Then add the lemon
zest, juice, and heavy cream; season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of well-salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to
package directions, until al dente. Drain and toss the pasta into the sauce with the peas. Add the
parmesan cheese, tossing to combine, and garnish with parsley.
